Coloured Stripe Demo

There are probably five ways of creating a stripe down the page.

• A Narrow but High GIF The stripe on this page uses a .gif file WIDTH="40" and HEIGHT=" " as long as you need. The advantage of this one is that it also forces a margin to push the text and other material out of the stripe. But it only works on the latest browsers, previous versions may not allow the text to wrap round GIFs.

• Borderless frames The idea is shown on the Animation frames demo, but you would colour the left frame, and use BORDERS="0". This has the same problem as the GIF in that older browsers cannot cope.

Coloured cells So that the first column of cells is a colour, and the second column white or whatever. This only work on the more up-to-date browsers.
